-Natural and dried natural herbs
-Spices and natural boosters (garlic, onions, peppers, cloves and etc.)
Foods allowed in the Paleo Diet are lean meats, poultry, fish, fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, spices and natural and dried herb plants. There are a world of creative Paleo Recipes
that are being deliciously enhanced with natural and dried herb choices. Let us review herb plants and herb lexicon.
Herb lexicon
-Bay: Utilized in soups and stews. Replace: Thyme
-Basil: vegetables grand with tomatoes. Substitutes: Marjoram, Mint
-Cayenne Pepper: Got from small fruited forms of
capsicum. Is a dull red color. Found in tiny amounts in veggies, meats, greens dressing and cheese.
-Chili Pepper: Crimson contains antioxidants and might retard bacterial growth.
-Chives: Good with salads and Cold Plates. Alternate
solutions: Scallions & Green Onions
-Cilantro: Salsa, Asian & Caribbean Food. Alternatives: Flat-leaf Parsley Spicy Basils
-Cinnamon: Tan brown colored. which contains antioxidants and might retard bacterial growth
-Cloves: Dark brown in color. Often used within conjunction with other spices.
It possesses a bitter flavor.
-Curry: includes antioxidants and could retard
bacterial development
-Dill: sea food, Chicken, Egg, Salads, Beans, Carrots, Cucumbers, Cabbage, Potatoes,
Pickles & Sour Cream or Yogurt Dips. Substitute: Caraway
-Lemon Grass: Asian Dishes, Chicken, Beef, Curry sometimes in combination with
coconut milk. Stand-in: Lemon Zest
-Lemon Verbana: fish, Poultry, Marinades, Salad Dressings, Jams, Sauces, Teas
Stand-in: Lemon Grass & Lemon Zest
-Mint: Lamb, Eggplant, Treats Teas, Salads, greens,
Fruits. Substitute: Spicy Basils
-Mustard: Young juicy leaves are used for greens and for salads.
Seeds are used as a ground spice in salads dressings, pickles, sauces, in a few green vegetables and cheeses.
-Oregano: Beef, Fowl, Noodles, Tomatoes. Substitute: Marjoram,
Mint, Basil
-Parsley: Well-liked herb that may be used in variety of ways. May be used in
fruit and vegetable salads, in sandwiches, in soup and gravy.
-Pepper Grass or Cress: Can be employed in salads and
sandwiches.
-Sage: Poultry, Legumes, Stuffing, Noodles. Replace: Thyme, Summer

-Tarragon: Chicken, Eggs, fish Stand-in: Anise, Fennel
-Sweet Basil: taste of cloves. Flavors salads, soups and meats.
